The command looks like this:įROM weather LEFT OUTER JOIN cities ON (weather.city = cities.name) Ĭity | temp_lo | temp_hi | prcp | date | name | location This kind of query is called an outer join. If no matching row is found we want some “ empty values” to be substituted for the cities table's columns. What we want the query to do is to scan the weather table and for each row to find the matching cities row(s). Now we will figure out how we can get the Hayward records back in. This syntax is not as commonly used as the one above, but we show it here to help you understand the following topics. Join queries of the kind seen thus far can also be written in this alternative form:įROM weather INNER JOIN cities ON (weather.city = cities.name) It is widely considered good style to qualify all column names in a join query, so that the query won't fail if a duplicate column name is later added to one of the tables. Weather.prcp, weather.date, cities.location SELECT weather.city, weather.temp_lo, weather.temp_hi, ![]() If there were duplicate column names in the two tables you'd need to qualify the column names to show which one you meant, as in: Since the columns all had different names, the parser automatically found which table they belong to. In practice this is undesirable, though, so you will probably want to list the output columns explicitly rather than using *: ![]() This is correct because the lists of columns from the weather and cities tables are concatenated. There are two columns containing the city name. We will see shortly how this can be fixed. This is because there is no matching entry in the cities table for Hayward, so the join ignores the unmatched rows in the weather table. There is no result row for the city of Hayward. ![]() ![]() Because most of the students are using Windows OS. Therefore, I am not agreed with the Xcode text editor for C or C++ programming. Some of the recalled products had benzene levels well above that amount. Frequent exposure to amounts above that could increase the risk of leukemia. ![]() The FDA says benzene levels in consumer products should be less than 2 parts per million (ppm). What is clear is that while the amounts of benzene found in the products aren’t high enough to pose immediate health threats, they do raise safety concerns, especially if people are exposed to them for long periods or to benzene from other sources. “This contamination may be related to inactive ingredients such as carbomers (thickening agents), isobutane (a spray propellant), or other drug components made from hydrocarbons,” the FDA said in December. So far, the agency has no clear answers, because benzene is not an ingredient in the products. From 2001 to 2003, Max Brooks wrote skits for the likes of Will Farrell, Amy Poehler and Chris Parnell-all the while working in secret on his first zombie book. So it came to be that a young Max Brooks, fresh out of college, spent two seasons as a writer at SNL. However, he is also the son of comedy legend Mel Brooks, who wrote and directed classic funny movies such as Young Frankenstein and Blazzing Saddles. Max Brooks is the Stephen King of zombie writers. Max Brooks is best known form writing popular books about zombies, including The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, which was made into a movie starring Brad Pitt. Stephen Colbert did help fellow writer Robert Smigel draft several animated TV Funhouse sketches, notably the Ambiguously Gay Duo, and he came up with a funny commercial parody featuring a used mattress salesman. The rear outer cover has far greater clarity for the most part, with a pristine track listing and artist information (everything save for the film stills and film credits). ![]() Even more unforgivably, the film title logo looks blurred too. but all of the lettering is blurred, just as it is with the artists’ names at the bottom of the cover. The track listing “sticker” in the centre of the album cover is part of the artwork, which is appropriate, as it was part of the original album release artwork. It looks like what it probably is an enlargement of the original CD artwork, blown up to LP size and losing all of the clarity you should expect from a well crafted, boutique-priced vinyl edition. The real letdown here is the outer artwork. The translucent blue vinyl looks - and sounds - gorgeous on this limited (to 1,000) edition of this cosy, sentimental favourite of a soundtrack album. But such fantasies are what movies are made for, especially romantic comedies, and for this release of the soundtrack to Sleepless in Seattle on LP, we at Real Gone Music have issued a "sunset" vinyl edition that'll cause you to gaze dreamily at the horizon (glass of wine not included). The music was so powerful, in fact, and so integrated with the screenplay that it helped gloss over the incredibility of the film's premise, which, as you might recall, had Meg Ryan falling in love with Tom Hanks, a stranger she had never met, merely from hearing him being interviewed on a radio talk show on Christmas Eve. Indeed, the film re-introduced a whole new generation to the unique charms of Jimmy Durante with his renditions of "As Time Goes By" and "Make Someone Happy" over the opening and closing credits, respectively, resulting in a boomlet of enthusiasm for the work of the ol' Schnozzola. With artists old (Louis Armstrong, Nat "King" Cole, Gene Autry), new (Céline Dion, Harry Connick, Jr.) and somewhere in between (Carly Simon, Joe Cocker, Tammy Wynette), the movie's array of songs (many chosen by Ephron herself) appealed to hearts of every vintage and tastes of every stripe, and the tunes themselves represented the best that the Brill Building and Nashville had to offer. One of the great trio of romantic comedies starring Meg Ryan that were written and/or directed by the late Nora Ephron (When Harry Met Sally and You've Got Mail being the other two), 1993's Sleepless in Seattle was arguably the most romantic movie of its generation, and its soundtrack was a big reason why.
